About

My name is Mario Menjívar, and I am a curiosity-driven human, computer scientist, and immigrant. Originally from El Salvador, I have spent the last decade living and working in Southern California.
With over ten years of experience in the technology industry, my work has evolved from building core software to architecting complex systems that bridge the gap between legacy industrial processes and modern Artificial Intelligence. In my current leadership role, I focus on implementing LLM-based automation and Business Intelligence solutions that drive efficiency and data-backed decision-making.
Beyond my primary engineering work, I serve as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) for Western Governors University, my alma mater. In this capacity, I help shape and validate the curriculum for the next generation of computer scientists, specifically in the domains of AI Strategy and Operating Systems.
Outside of the IDE, my curiosity is fueled by:
- Languages: I am a dedicated student of the French language and enjoy the challenge of becoming a polyglot.
- Community: I believe in using technology for social impact, such as developing Pins, an open-source web mapping platform to visualize community-reported data.
- Exploration: I find balance in reading history, watching documentaries, and exploring the intersection of culture and technology.
I don’t write here as much as I used to, but feel free to look at my blog (in Spanish)—I hope it helps.
Any comment is welcome; you have my contact information at the bottom of this page.
